Amanda, an exceptional businesswoman and esteemed community member, is above all a devoted mother to a child with Down Syndrome. Upon learning of an incident at her restaurant involving harassment of an employee with autism by a customer, Amanda took decisive action.
Many of Amanda’s restaurant staff are differently abled. She deliberately hires them, recognizing their potential and the need for patience in learning. Each person is assigned specific tasks, ensuring they excel in their responsibilities. When a customer’s request exceeded an employee’s training, Amanda addressed it with understanding and grace.
Rather than succumbing to anger, Amanda embraced the opportunity to affirm her commitment to inclusivity.
