Rhythm Pacheco, a 10-year-old girl from Utah, refused to respond to a Math test question that she deemed “offensive” and “rude.” Instead, she provided her explanation to her teacher.
Her mother, Naomi, routinely checks her daughter’s schoolwork and was surprised to discover Rhythm’s response to the question on her Math test. Impressed by her daughter’s stance, Naomi decided to share a photo of the test paper on social media. The post garnered praise from many who admired the young girl for standing up for her beliefs.
The Math question in question prompted students to compare the weights of three women and determine ‘how much heavier’ one was compared to the lightest student.
In her response, Rhythm wrote, “This is offensive. Sorry, I won’t write this, it’s rude.”
Concerned about her teacher’s reaction, she also penned a separate letter for her teacher to read later, expressing her thoughts.
