Pat Sajak acknowledged the difficulty, saying, “That’s all you get to work with—obviously, it’s challenging,” and encouraging Shawn with, “Keep talking. Stranger things have happened. Ten seconds. Person. Good luck.”
Despite Sajak’s uncertainty and speculation from viewers at home, Shawn’s quick thinking led to a breakthrough. Within seconds of starting the bonus round, he uttered two words that solved the puzzle.
Shawn’s revelation surprised not only the audience but even the seasoned Sajak himself. “I don’t get this game,” Sajak joked in amazement as he revealed Shawn’s earnings: a significant $33,000 in addition to his regular winnings.
