Trump Criticizes FBI Director Wray’s Statement About ‘Shrapnel’ Injuries Instead Of A Bullet Wound

Former President Donald Trump did not hold back in his criticism of FBI Director Christopher Wray following Wray’s recent testimony before Congress. On his Truth Social platform, Trump voiced his frustration over Wray’s remarks about the incident where Trump was injured during an assassination attempt.

In the testimony, Wray had mentioned uncertainty about whether the object that struck Trump’s ear during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13 was a bullet or shrapnel. Wray noted that the exact nature of the projectile remained unclear.

Wray stated, “I think there’s some question about whether it was a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear.” Trump was clearly displeased with this statement.

Trump responded vehemently on social media, criticizing Wray for his uncertainty. He posted, “FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress he wasn’t sure if I was hit by shrapnel, glass, or a bullet (the FBI never even investigated!), but he was confident that Crooked Joe Biden was physically and cognitively ‘uneventful’ – Incorrect!”

Trump continued his attack, accusing Wray of focusing on actions against January 6th supporters, raiding Mar-a-Lago, and supporting what he described as radical leftists. He also lamented the lack of accountability for those responsible for chaos in the capital, such as burning American flags and vandalizing monuments, claiming there has been no meaningful retribution.

Trump asserted that it was indeed a bullet that struck his ear, contradicting Wray’s uncertain testimony. He emphasized, “It was, unfortunately, a bullet that hit my ear with force. There was no glass or shrapnel. The hospital described it as a ‘bullet wound to the ear,’ and that’s what it was. It’s no wonder the once-respected FBI has lost the trust of the American people!”

To recap, during the assassination attempt, Trump was hit in his right ear. U.S. Secret Service agents quickly surrounded him and moved him to safety. Trump received treatment at a nearby hospital and later appeared at the Republican National Convention with a bandage on his ear.

The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was swiftly dealt with by Secret Service agents. The incident also resulted in injuries to two other individuals and the tragic death of former firefighter Corey Comperatore, who was trying to protect his family.

The fallout from this incident led to calls for reform within the Secret Service, resulting in the resignation of its director, Kimberly Cheatle. Wray is now facing similar scrutiny, with House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., among those expressing dissatisfaction with his leadership.

Johnson’s comments reflected frustration and concern over agency management. He noted, “We’ve seen the video and the analysis from various sources confirming that a bullet went through his ear. While it might not be crucial, Wray was not forthcoming with the information we expected.”

This ongoing situation certainly raises questions about the state of leadership within key national security agencies. As the story develops, Trump’s comments will likely continue to add a provocative dimension to the narrative.
