Video Depicts Elementary School Principal Using Physical Force On 6-Year-Old Student

A troubling video has surfaced depicting an elementary school principal and a clerk in southwest Florida paddling a 6-year-old student for allegedly scratching a computer screen.

The incident was recorded by the child’s mother, who had visited the school to pay a fine related to the damage her daughter was accused of causing. She felt compelled to record the event to ensure her account would be believed.

Although the school district’s handbook prohibits corporal punishment, Florida law does not explicitly outlaw it. The child’s mother described the paddling as harsh and frightening, potentially causing both physical and psychological harm.

The family’s attorney expressed alarm over the severity of the punishment, likening it to “aggravated battery.” The mother has sought medical attention for her daughter to document any injuries.

The incident has provoked widespread outrage and demands for justice, urging the school district to address the situation appropriately.
