After Waking Up, The Boy Turns To His Mom And Says, ‘Hey Mom, I Forgot To Tell You—I Saw Your Other Two Kids’

Note: This story was originally reported in October 2015 and is being revisited for new readers.

A woman from North Carolina has authored a book about her and her son’s experiences following a tragic car accident that resulted in the death of her husband and nearly took her son’s life. The son, Landon Whitley, who was 8 years old at the time, claims that he had a near-death experience where he visited heaven before being revived (watch the video below).

In October 1997, Landon was involved in a severe car crash and was pronounced dead on three separate occasions—first at the accident site, then in the ambulance, and finally at the hospital, according to Fox News.

Despite these events, medical professionals were able to resuscitate him each time. During his experiences, Whitley describes having seen “streets of gold,” Jesus, angels, and members of his family who had passed away.

Julie Kemp, Landon’s mother, recounted the moment she informed her young son about his father’s death while he was in the hospital recovering from his injuries.

Julie shared with CBN, “I asked Landon if he knew where his dad was, and he responded, ‘Yes, I know where he is; I saw him in heaven.’”

What followed was even more surprising.

Julie continued, “He then mentioned, ‘Oh mom, I forgot to tell you that I saw your other two children.’” Julie was taken aback, as she had never shared with Landon that she had two miscarriages before his birth.

Landon, however, instinctively recognized these siblings. “I knew they were my siblings, even though no one had told me about them,” he explained to CBN. “In heaven, I suppose you just know who everyone is.”

Following the accident, Landon now has 23 metal plates in his head and has lost vision in his left eye, according to Fox News. He hopes that sharing his story will strengthen others’ faith in God and encourage them to follow Christian teachings.

Julie Kemp’s book, which delves into their spiritual and emotional healing from this ordeal, is titled Faith Has Its Reasons.
