Simone Biles has achieved the title of the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history, with her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens, cheering her on proudly. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Owens marked her milestone by posting a touching tribute on social media. He shared a photo of them in Paris, with Biles wearing her gold medal, and wrote, “Every time you step on the mat, you make history… Congrats on becoming the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history!!!”
Despite the celebration, Owens received mixed feedback online for wearing the medal, with some questioning his decision. However, the couple’s relationship remains strong. Biles defended Owens, highlighting her admiration for him and noting, “I’ve never met anyone quite like him.”
In an interview with Hoda Kotb, Biles spoke about her personal development and mental health. She said, “I’ve always aimed to be true to myself… I feel much freer now, especially with the help of therapy.” Therapy has been crucial in helping her deal with challenges, including the “twisties,” and in embracing her authentic self.
Biles also discussed the importance of authenticity and relatability. She remarked, “We used to view therapy as a weakness, but now I see it as a strength.”
