The Rockdale County coroner has officially identified three teenagers who were fatally shot during an alleged attempted robbery.

The three teenagers, who were wearing masks, have been identified as Isaiah Reid, Brandon Gresham, and Jaime Hernandez. Initially, law enforcement stated that two of the teenagers were 16 years old and the third was 15.

Coroner George Levett has stated that the autopsy results will not be available for several weeks, as the autopsies are being conducted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

In an interview with 11Alive, Rockdale County Sheriff Eric Levett explained that the three teenagers were attempting to rob the homeowner and his family in the middle of the night.

“When deputies arrived, they discovered masks on the faces of the deceased young men,” he said.

The incident took place just after 4 a.m. in Conyers, off Flat Shoals Road on White Oak Court.

According to the sheriff, one of the suspects wielded a handgun and fired at the residents before one of the intended victims returned fire.

A family member has confirmed that 16-year-old Reid and 15-year-old Hernandez were brothers.

The homeowner, speaking through a neighbor, has indicated that he is not yet ready to provide a statement regarding the incident.

The sheriff has stated that the investigation is ongoing to determine whether the homeowner will face any charges or if it will be considered a case of self-defense.
